CFTEH is funding a suite of government positions such as Chicago's first-ever Chief Homelessness Officer position for three years and four positions at the state level for one year, embedded in the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, the Illinois Department of Corrections, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority.

These positions serve as senior-level policy-making officials, leading activities at their respective agencies to prevent and end homelessness. CFTEH is also providing resources to support the development of a new five-year plan to prevent and end homelessness for the City of Chicago.
